Overview: Sherry Golf Jerez is an 18-hole, par-72 course designed by Stirling & Martin through their Global Golf Company. The layout follows an American-influenced approach: broad fairways, generous greens, gentle undulations and hazards placed to create interest without turning the walk into a sequence of steep climbs. That combination makes the course approachable for amateurs while leaving enough demanding lines and recovery decisions to test stronger players. It sits close to Jerez de la Frontera, in the Cádiz golf region.
History: The Spanish federation records Sherry Golf’s foundation as 2004. Despite its relatively young age, the club established a serious competition identity early, hosting the Copa de Su Majestad el Rey in 2006, 2015 and 2022 and the Copa de Su Majestad la Reina in 2007 and 2011. It has also hosted the International Seniors twice and the Volvo Masters Amateur. From 2006 through 2009, Sherry Golf served as the official venue for the second qualifying phase of the European PGA.
Did You Know? The main course is only half of Sherry Golf’s golf offering. Alongside the 18-hole layout is a separate nine-hole pitch-and-putt course measuring 911 metres and playing to par 27. The two courses explain why the directory distinguishes the ranked 18-hole profile from the shorter layout, while the wide fairways and greens of the main course reflect the club’s stated goal of making golf both playable and strategically interesting.
