Overview: Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort’s Blue/Red combination uses part of the historic 27-hole course on an island in the Delaware River. A.W. Tillinghast’s work gives the resort a classic Pocono setting with lush fairways, river views and undulating greens.
History: The golf course opened in 1911 and is recognized as one of A.W. Tillinghast’s earliest complete 18-hole designs. Shawnee later hosted the 1938 PGA Championship, adding an important national chapter to the resort’s history.
Did You Know? The course occupies a Delaware River island. Its water-bound setting is one of the clearest reasons the resort’s golf experience feels different from an ordinary inland parkland course.
