Overview: Shadow Wood Preserve is the third 18-hole routing in the private Shadow Wood golf family. The club lists a par 72 course of 6,686 yards, threaded through preserve land and native Southwest Florida vegetation. The layout's identity comes from its quieter setting, natural edges and the contrast between open playing corridors and wooded habitat.
History: The Preserve community added its own golf course in the 2000s, and course-industry records credit Arthur Hills with the original design. Steve Forrest and Hills Forrest Smith are associated with later work and master improvements. Because the sources do not agree on a precise opening year, that field remains blank.
Did You Know? Shadow Wood Preserve helps complete the club's 54-hole golf offering, alongside the North and South courses. The Preserve routing was planned around natural preserve areas rather than treating them as leftover land, which is why habitat and golf corridors remain so closely interwoven.
