Overview: Seletar Country Club is an 18-hole parkland course beside the Lower Seletar Reservoir, where rolling ground, water features and broad green corridors give the layout a calm countryside setting within Singapore. The current Golfplan design places as much emphasis on playability as on visual drama, allowing different tee and pin positions to change the challenge from one round to the next. This is a course of strategic choices rather than a single forced line: players can choose a conservative route, but the best angles often require engaging the undulation and water at the right moment.
History: The club traces its origins to the early 1930s, while the earlier modern course is associated with Chris Pitman’s 1994 design. Seletar was substantially remade over an 18-month project and reopened as a new 18-hole course in April 2020, with Golfplan credited for the current design. That distinction matters: 2020 describes the present course rebirth, not the founding of the club. The current directory identity is the reservoir-side Seletar Country Club at Seletar Club Road.
Did You Know? The 7th is the course’s signature visual hole because of its dramatic waterfall backdrop. The 3rd and 15th are known locally as the “Twin Jewels” because they run parallel to one another, creating an unusual visual echo within the round. Seletar also became Singapore’s first course to use Zoysia Zeon turf, linking the course’s modern identity to its focus on water-efficient, sustainable maintenance.
