Overview: Sea Links Golf & Country Club rises above the coastal resort landscape of Mui Ne and Phan Thiet, where Ronald Fream’s 18-hole design works through sandy ground and open sea-facing terrain. The reviewed championship record lists par 72 and 7,623 yards. The course has a broad, exposed feel, with dunes and changing lies giving the fairways their shape and the wind a visible role in club selection. It is a layout that rewards a player who can control trajectory and accept that the most attractive line is not always the safest one.
History: Sea Links opened in 2008 as part of the expansion of Phan Thiet and Mui Ne into a major coastal leisure destination. Ronald Fream’s design retained much of the site’s natural character, relying on the existing landforms and focused bunker work rather than flattening the property into a uniform resort course. Later golf developments in the area have added more options, but Sea Links remains one of the courses that established the region’s identity as a destination for golf as well as beach travel.
Did You Know? A course profile for Sea Links notes that many natural features required little shaping beyond the bunker work. That is an important clue to the routing’s appearance. The dunes are not simply decorative mounds placed around a conventional layout. They form the underlying ground, affecting stances, sightlines and the way a ball releases after landing, especially when the coastal wind is moving across the property.
