Overview: Sea Island's Plantation Course is a resort 18-hole layout on St. Simons Island. Live oaks, tidal creeks and a coastal parkland setting frame a course whose current form draws on Walter Travis's early work and the Love family's modern redesign.
History: The first Plantation nine opened in 1928. Rees Jones combined earlier nines into the 18-hole Plantation course in 1998, and Davis Love III and Mark Love completely redesigned it in 2019 while restoring Golden Age-inspired features.
Did You Know? The modern course includes references to classic features such as the Principal's Nose and Travis's chocolate drops, linking the 2019 design to the site's older architectural history.
