Overview: Added to the Scottsdale National complex in 2016, The Other Course was designed by the firm of Jackson Kahn to provide a strategic and visually stunning alternative to the original Mine Shaft layout. This 18-hole championship course is characterized by its creative routing and wide variety of hole lengths, featuring large-scale desert landforms and impeccably manicured fairways. The design emphasizes fun and variety, with dramatic bunkers and green complexes that offer multiple avenues of approach.
History: Scottsdale National was envisioned by billionaire Bob Parsons as a premier sanctuary for serious golfers, free from the traditional restrictions of a typical country club. Jackson and Kahn utilized the site's dramatic desert topography to create a routing that feels both expansive and intimately connected to the land. Since its inception, the club has earned a reputation as one of the most exclusive and innovative institutions in the United States, prioritizing architectural excellence and the social spirit of the game.
Did You Know? Despite its casual-sounding name, The Other Course is a serious championship test that features some of the most innovative and artistic bunker designs in the Southwest. The course is noted for its "artistic desert" aesthetic, where the emerald green fairways contrast sharply against the rugged, sandy waste areas and the dark peaks of the surrounding mountains.
