Overview: Scarlet & Gray Golf Club is the current name of the private 18-hole course in Bakersfield formerly listed as Rio Bravo Country Club. Robert Muir Graves designed the par-72 layout, which dates to 1975 and extends to about 7,000 yards through open inland California ground with trees, water and broad playing corridors.
History: The club was established in 1975 and is credited to Robert Muir Graves. The current Scarlet & Gray identity is a later naming chapter, while the directory record still carries the Rio Bravo name. The course address and 18-hole identity confirm that these labels refer to the same Bakersfield property.
Did You Know? The name Scarlet & Gray preserves a local identity that is different from the old Rio Bravo label. The change is worth recording because searches for the former name can otherwise lead readers to an outdated profile even though the underlying Bakersfield course is the same.
