Overview: Saujana Golf & Country Club's Palm Course is a tropical championship layout in Shah Alam, Selangor, shaped by Ronald Fream Design Group. Known as “The Cobra,” it runs through mature oil palms on undulating ground with narrow approaches, ravines, water, bold bunkers and Tifeagle greens. From the black tees it measures 6,992 yards, and the second hole is a demanding 172-yard par three with a pronounced two-tier putting surface.
History: Saujana Golf & Country Club was founded in 1984 on what had been an oil-palm estate; published golf-course data dates the Palm Course's opening to 1986. The official club describes the Palm and Bunga Raya courses as championship designs by Ronald Fream Design Group and records a substantial tournament history, including nine Malaysian Opens and three Maybank Championships at the club. The Palm has been the principal tournament course.
Did You Know? The Palm Course's “Cobra” nickname is not just branding: the club says its second hole has been rated Malaysia's Most Difficult Hole. The official hole guide also identifies the sixth as “The Stadium Hole,” a par four played beside a deep, palm-filled hollow.
