Overview: Bunga Raya Course at Saujana Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole parkland layout in Shah Alam, Selangor. The club's current course page lists 7,034 yards and describes a rolling landscape punctuated by lakes and wide areas of water. It is known as The Crocodile, a nickname connected with the course's shape and character. The recent rerouting and reconstruction uses a layout by Parslow & Winter Golf Design, with Bermuda 419 fairways and Mini Verde greens. Water and elevation repeatedly turn apparently generous landing areas into decisions about line and club selection.
History: Saujana Golf & Country Club was founded in 1984 on more than 400 acres of what had been an oil-palm estate. The club's current overview identifies Bunga Raya as the Parslow & Winter course, distinct from the Ronald Fream-designed Palm Course. Bunga Raya has since undergone major rerouting and reconstruction, so the club's founding year should not be treated as the opening date of every present hole. Current official material gives the modern course's length but does not state a separate reopening year.
Did You Know? One of Bunga Raya's clearest strategic signatures is the first hole, a par-five with a large body of water protecting the front and sides of the green. The official hole guide says longer players may consider reaching in two, while most will prefer a three-shot route. The 17th offers a different water test as a short island par-three, and the 18th finishes beside water along the right. Those holes explain why the course's lakes are tactical features, not just scenery.
