Overview: Old's back-tee card reads 6,851 yards for a par-72 woodland round over eighteen holes. The current club guide describes birch trees, ponds, creeks and bunkers, and the terrain creates a more traditional walking-and-caddie feel than a purely resort-style round. The holes sit in the Kitahiroshima landscape south of Sapporo, where a good position into the green is often more useful than a reckless attempt to gain a few extra yards.
History: The Old Course opened in 1974. The club credits the design to Hozuki Kajitani and the supervision to Billy Casper, a specific combination that distinguishes this routing from Regent's New Course and its separate designer. Together New and Old form the original 36-hole Regent complex. The course's current operating information continues to offer walking, caddie and cart-related choices, preserving a connection with the older club format while accommodating modern visitors.
Did You Know? Old Left and Old Right in the directory are alternate records for the same current Old Course, not separate 18-hole courses. The Left row is therefore used for the canonical profile. The useful practical difference from New is not just the 179 extra back-tee yards: Old's caddie-oriented presentation and mature birch setting change the pace of the round and make its established identity easy to feel.
