Overview: Set in a breathtaking location overlooking the Atlantic Ocean on the island of Madeira, Clube de Golf Santo da Serra is a 27-hole masterpiece redesigned by the legendary Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1991. The Desertas/Serras combination provides a sweeping mountain golf experience, characterized by significant elevation changes, deep ravines, and lush, botanical-like landscaping. Situated nearly 1,000 feet above sea level, the routing offers panoramic views of the Desertas Islands and the bay of Machico, demanding both length and accuracy in equal measure.
Did You Know? Santo da Serra has a long-standing relationship with the European Tour, having served as the primary venue for the Madeira Island Open for over 20 years. The Serras loop, added in 1998, is known for its dramatic mountain vistas and for having greens that are often perched on the edge of steep valleys, rewarding the most courageous approach shots with spectacular bird's-eye views of the island.
