Overview: Santiburi Samui Country Club is Koh Samui’s full-length 18-hole golf course, a par-72 championship layout running along the island’s northern hills. Current course information lists 6,930 yards, with the land rising from about 30 metres above sea level near the coast to roughly 290 metres at its highest point. Waterfalls, creeks, coconut vegetation and ocean views shape a round that is defined by elevation and changing vistas rather than a flat resort grid. It is the natural golf companion to a Samui beach stay.
History: The course opened in 2003 as the first international-standard golf course on Koh Samui. The tourism record notes that different designers were used for the outward and inward sections, an unusual design decision that gives the two halves distinct movement. The current club has developed that course identity into a complete resort product with a clubhouse, restaurant, practice facilities and continuing Thailand Golf Association rating work.
Did You Know? Santiburi’s holes can move from high hillside viewpoints toward lower coastal ground, so the same round can contain both mountain golf and sea-facing golf. The operator’s current course description also identifies waterfalls and creeks running through the property, making water a natural landscape feature as well as a strategic one.
