Overview: Located in Rovaniemi, Finland, located exactly on the Arctic Circle, Santa Claus Golf Club is a highly scenic 18-hole woodland course. Carved through dense, massive pine and spruce forests, the layout features extreme elevation changes, tight, heavily restricted fairways, and small, well-defended putting surfaces. The course is a severe physical test, requiring players to execute precise shots over deep, rocky ravines.
History: Founded in the late 1980s, the course was built to establish a premier competitive venue in Lapland. The layout was carefully integrated into the natural, rugged topography, minimizing earth movement to preserve the incredibly pristine, deep northern wilderness.
Did You Know? Because the course is located directly on the Arctic Circle, the region experiences the "Midnight Sun" during the peak summer months. The club operates 24 hours a day during this period, allowing players to tee off completely in the middle of the night in broad daylight.
