Overview: Indian River County's Dunes course gives public golfers 18 holes at par 72 and a maximum of 7,083 yards, winding over an old coastal ridge with water, bunkers and sandy ground in play.
History: Sandridge's official site dates the Dunes opening to 1987 and credits Ron Garl with the design. The county later added the Lakes course in 1992, creating the current 36-hole public facility.
Did You Know? The Dunes follows an old ridge once used for mining operations, giving the course more natural elevation than many flat Florida layouts.
