Overview: Lakes/Palms is an 18-hole combination at Sandpiper's private Sun City Center property. The route plays to par 72 and a longest scorecard length of 6,428 yards, combining the Lakes and Palms nines across Florida parkland with water and palm-lined corridors.
History: Sandpiper's original 18 holes opened in 1968 under Mark Mahannah, and Ron Garl added the Lakes nine in 1985. The three nines now form Lakes/Palms, Oaks/Lakes and Palms/Oaks combinations.
Did You Know? The Lakes nine contains the facility's natural lake and a peninsula par-three hole, features that give this combination its name and visual identity.
