Overview: Sand Valley is an inland links built through a naturally sandy, rolling site near Paslek in northern Poland. Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw routed the course through tumbling dunes, using broad fairways, sandy expanses and boldly shaped greens to create a fast-running, strategic style of golf. The visual language is deliberately spare: the landforms, wind and ground game do much of the work, while the course's width leaves room for different lines and creative recovery shots. It is a course where angles and imagination matter as much as distance.
History: The project began when Craig Haltom found the sandy property and connected with Mike Keiser through architect Greg Ramsey. Keiser and his sons bought approximately 1,700 acres in 2013, after which Coore and Crenshaw began routing the first course through the dunes. Sand Valley opened in May 2017 and quickly became the foundation of a larger golf destination that later added Mammoth Dunes and The Sandbox.
Did You Know? The wider Sand Valley property includes The Sandbox, a 17-hole par-3 course designed by Coore and Crenshaw. That smaller routing sits close to the clubhouse and extends the same sandy, ground-oriented design language into a compact course with its own rhythm and variety.
