Overview: Located on the Adriatic coast in Apulia, Italy, San Domenico Golf is an 18-hole coastal links-style course designed by Andy Haggar of European Golf Design. The layout plays over a flat, expansive plain bordered by historic olive groves and the sea, featuring wide fairways framed by native fescue, large, rugged bunkers, and fast, subtly contoured greens. Highly exposed to coastal winds, the course demands low, piercing trajectories and creative ground-game shots.
History: Opened in 2003, the course was built to establish a premier luxury competitive resort destination in southern Italy. The layout was carefully integrated into the historic agricultural landscape, preserving ancient olive trees and ancient stone walls. The venue has hosted the Challenge Tour Grand Final multiple times.
Did You Know? The course is built on a historic estate that features thousands of ancient olive trees, some of which are over a thousand years old. These majestic trees are strategically integrated into the fairways and rough, providing a unique, historic Italian backdrop.
