Overview: Located on the island of Samsø, Denmark, Samsø Golfklub is a highly scenic 18-hole coastal links-style course. Built on a massive, open peninsula jutting into the Kattegat sea, the layout features wide, heavily contoured fairways, extensive deep-faced pot bunkers, and large, fast green complexes. The course is almost completely treeless and entirely exposed to severe coastal winds, requiring highly creative ground-game shots.
History: Founded in the early 1990s, the course was built to bring authentic, high-quality links golf to the remote island. The layout was carefully integrated into the rugged coastal terrain, minimizing earth movement to preserve the historic agricultural landscape and the delicate seaside ecosystem.
Did You Know? The course is entirely surrounded by the deep blue waters of the Kattegat sea. The massive, pristine shoreline serves as a dramatic, imposing visual backdrop for nearly the entire round, offering a truly raw and isolated coastal golfing experience.
