Overview: Sage Valley Golf Club, nestled in the rolling pine forests of Graniteville, South Carolina, is an extraordinary private parkland course designed by Tom Fazio. Often described as the closest experience to Augusta National outside of Augusta, the course features perfectly manicured fairways, pine straw, and vibrant azaleas. Winding through dense pine forests, the course features a highly traditional layout characterized by scenic water hazards and lightning-fast greens.
History: Opened in 2001, Sage Valley was founded by prominent businessman Weldon Wyatt with the explicit goal of creating a perfect, luxury golf experience. Fazio took full advantage of the rolling sandy hills, using the towering pines and creeks to define the strategic hazards. It has hosted several long-established amateur and junior events, most notably the Junior Invitational, widely considered the most long-established junior tournament in the world.
Did You Know? The service levels at Sage Valley are notable, featuring a caddie program where caddies wear traditional white jumpsuits identical to those at Augusta National.
