Overview: The Sagamore Resort's private-resort course is a Donald Ross parkland layout in Bolton Landing beside Lake George. Narrow hardwood-lined fairways, deep bunkers and undulating greens create the main playing challenge, while the surrounding lake and Adirondack landscape shape the setting.
History: Ross personally supervised the course, which opened in 1928. The layout has remained part of The Sagamore's resort property and continues to present Ross's strategic ideas through a modern resort operation.
Did You Know? The course's view lines toward Lake George are woven into the routing, but the lake is not just scenery: the open water and surrounding hills also help explain the changing wind and club selection from hole to hole.
