Overview: Set within the lush, rolling river valley of Seinäjoki in western Finland, Ruuhikoskigolf is a spectacular championship parkland course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. The layout features wide fairways that wind through mature birch and pine forests, with water hazards coming into play on several holes along the winding Nurmonjoki River. Jones Jr. utilized the natural contours of the valley to sculpt dramatic greens and bold, artistic bunkers, creating an aesthetic and strategic masterpiece in the heart of the Finnish countryside.
History: Opened in 1992, Ruuhikoskigolf was built during a major boom in Finnish golf development, with the club commissioning the world-renowned Robert Trent Jones Jr. to design their flagship course. Over the decades, it has established a reputation for its pristine conditioning, fast putting surfaces, and welcoming, community-focused atmosphere, consistently ranking among Finland's top courses.
Did You Know? The course is famous for its dramatic par-3 15th hole, where players must carry their tee shot over a wide sweep of the Nurmonjoki River to a green guarded by deep bunkers, providing a thrilling, make-or-break challenge late in the round.
