Overview: Izumikawa provides an 18-hole par-72 test within Rusutsu Resort Golf 72. The current Japanese resort guide lists 5,943 yards from its regular tees and describes a comparatively open, gently moving layout. The course uses ponds, broad fairways and the surrounding Hokkaido vegetation to create a relaxed resort round, but the downhill movement and the position of the final hole still give the routing a clear strategic shape.
History: Izumikawa opened on July 4, 2000, and the current course guide credits Nobumitsu Yuhara. It was developed as part of Rusutsu’s larger golf campus, where the River, Wood, Tower and Izumikawa routings make the resort a destination for multi-round trips. The exact tee totals vary between resort information pages, so the detailed Japanese course guide is used for the core yardage.
Did You Know? The 14th is noted for a maximum downhill change of about 17 metres. The sixth is framed by a pond and the 18th opens out more generously, giving the round a sequence of visual transitions rather than a single repeated resort-golf pattern.
