Overview: The South Course at RSHECC occupies the Coto Pesadilla property north of Madrid. Robert von Hagge designed the 18-hole companion to the North Course with rolling ground, shaped fairways, substantial bunkering, and mature planting.
History: The Real Sociedad Hípica Española dates to 1901, but the current 36-hole golf complex was developed after the club acquired Coto Pesadilla in 1990. The South Course opened in the late 1990s as part of von Hagge's paired designs, so its identity belongs to the modern property.
Did You Know? The North and South courses were designed as a pair on the same estate. Their shared architect and setting make them related, but separate routing names help explain why course guides list the two designs independently.
