Overview: Royal Queensland Golf Club is a historic private course located in Eagle Farm, Brisbane. Originally designed by Carnegie Clark in 1920 and completely redesigned by Mike Clayton in 2007, the course is built on low-lying land along the Brisbane River. The design features wide fairways, sprawling bunkers, and large, complex greens that emphasize strategic approach angles.
History: Founded in 1920, the club received its Royal charter from King George V in 1921. Mike Clayton's 2007 redesign completely re-routed the course to accommodate the construction of the Gateway Bridge. The course has hosted the Australian Open multiple times and is scheduled to host the golf events for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.
Did You Know? Royal Queensland is one of only two courses in the world situated directly underneath a major highway bridge, with several holes playing adjacent to the towering Gateway Bridge.
