Overview: Royal Palm Golf Club is an 18-hole course in Marrakech spread across a 75-hectare oasis with the Atlas foothills behind it. Cabell B. Robinson’s design uses mature planting, rolling greens, olive trees, water features, bunkers and waste areas to create a lush contrast with the surrounding Moroccan landscape. The official course material lists a par of 72 and a 6,608-metre championship length.
History: The Fairmont Royal Palm golf development opened in 2013 as part of the Royal Palm Marrakech resort. The course was built as a landscaped golf environment rather than a sparse desert layout, with irrigation and planting used to establish a green setting around the playing corridors. It remains closely tied to the hotel and country club.
Did You Know? The opening hole is a par 4 of about 410 metres with a wild bunker framed by ornamental grasses. The course’s signature-hole descriptions use those planted bunker edges as a visual reference for the first tee shot.
