Overview: Located in southern Jutland, Denmark, the Lake/Oak combination at Royal Oak Golf Club is an 18-hole championship parkland course designed by Per Gundtoft and Jens Malling. The layout features wide fairways framed by tall fescue grasses, deep sand hazards, and large green complexes. The course demands strategic positioning off the tee and accurate approach shots to navigate the undulating terrain.
History: Opened in 1992, Royal Oak was founded with the goal of introducing a modern, high-quality tournament venue to Denmark. Gundtoft and Malling sculpted the undulating terrain to create a strategic and visually striking layout that quickly established itself among Denmark's premier golf facilities.
Did You Know? The course is built to international tournament specifications, featuring a sand-based drainage system that was highly advanced for its time. This engineering allows the fairways and greens to remain open and playable year-round, except during periods of frost.
