Overview: Rolling Rock Club sits in the Ligonier Valley of Pennsylvania's Laurel Highlands, where the private course moves through open hills, woods and broad pastoral ground. The original Donald Ross holes provide the architectural foundation, while later work added length and new playing angles without turning the property into a conventional resort course. Its modest yardage masks the importance of placement and recovery.
History: The first nine holes opened in 1917 and were designed by Donald Ross. Brian Silva later expanded and updated the course, with the 1997 work adding a further chapter to the layout's history while keeping Ross's early course at its core.
Did You Know? Rolling Rock's golf history is intertwined with the club's wider country-estate tradition. The course occupies a setting in which the open Ligonier landscape, rather than housing or commercial development, remains central to the experience.
