Overview: Rockrimmon is a private parkland course in Stamford, Connecticut, with wooded corridors, rolling ground and a routing that makes the property’s elevation part of the challenge. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the course to move through the landscape with shaped fairways and demanding green approaches.
History: The first nine opened in the summer of 1949 and the second nine was completed in 1955. Later work has included changes to the eighth green and ninth tee, while the club has kept the original Jones-era identity at the center of the course.
Did You Know? A historic golfalator tram once helped move players and caddies up the steep incline between the ninth and tenth holes. The unusual feature reflects how seriously the original designers took the site’s abrupt terrain.
