Overview: Riviera’s Langer Course is the more exacting of the club’s two 18-hole layouts in Silang, Cavite, with Bernhard Langer and IMG Worldwide attached to its design. The gold-tee card measures 7,057 yards at par 71. Rolling ridges, ravines and a tropical highland setting frame a course whose landing areas are narrower than its companion Couples routing. Doglegs, visual deception and sloping greens reward a player who chooses position early and treats the approach as the centre of the hole.
History: The Langer Course was built as part of Riviera’s 36-hole development, completed in 1997 according to the Philippines Tourism profile. The club’s two layouts were conceived to offer different strategic experiences on the same elevated Silang property. The Langer design therefore belongs to the original identity of Riviera, alongside the separate Couples Course, rather than being a later alternate nine or a composite routing.
Did You Know? The Langer Course has a Philippine Open connection. Golfasian’s course history records the national championship being played here, with Frankie Minoza producing one of the notable performances associated with the venue. It is a fitting match for a layout that asks for length and accuracy together, especially where narrow landing zones and optical effects make a safe-looking line less safe than it appears.
