Overview: Riverdale Golf Club brings a deliberately shaped, up-and-down layout to the mostly flat golf country north of Bangkok. The current course card lists 18 holes, par 72 and 7,041 yards from the black tees. Jonathan Morrow and Al Tikkanen designed a course framed by native grasses, waste areas, white-sand hazards and greens that often sit above or below the player. The visual language is more sculpted than traditional Bangkok parkland, but the course remains strategic rather than merely theatrical, with risk-and-reward options built into many holes.
History: Riverdale opened in 2010 and became part of the MBK golf portfolio. Its design brief was to create visible elevation and variety in a region where many courses occupy flat former rice land. The current operator material still describes the layout through its rolling contours and hazard lines, while the detailed card confirms the exact routing, tee sets and Jonathan Morrow/Al Tikkanen authorship. The club has also appeared in Thai tournament and visitor-golf coverage, reinforcing its position in the Bangkok circuit.
Did You Know? Riverdale’s course card describes the layout as “up hill and down dale” golf in the Thai capital, an unusually apt summary of its identity. The black tees reach 7,041 yards, but the course’s defining challenge is not simply length: several holes reward a thoughtful line around waste areas, deep pits and elevation changes that can make the next shot look very different from the tee.
