Overview: River Oaks Country Club presents a private 18-hole course in Houston's River Oaks neighborhood, originally designed by Donald Ross. The urban parkland setting is shaped by mature trees, broad fairways and a long history of tournament golf.
History: The club was founded in 1923 and the original Ross course hosted early Texas championship events. Rees Jones renovated the course in 1990, followed by work from the Fazio design group in 2015, so the current layout is a layered version of the original design.
Did You Know? River Oaks was the venue for the Houston Open in 1937, 1938 and 1946, and for the Western Open in 1940.
