Overview: Located in a quiet, wooded setting near Antwerp, Belgium, the South Course at Rinkven Golfclub is an 18-hole parkland course designed by Paul Rolin. Winding through a mature forest of pine and silver birch, the layout features flat, narrow fairways and small putting surfaces. The course demands accurate ball placement off the tee and disciplined approach play to navigate the tree-lined corridors and numerous lateral water hazards.
History: Opened in 1981 as part of Rinkven's expansion into a 36-hole complex, the South Course was designed by Rolin to provide a strategic playing experience. Between 2014 and 2016, golf architect Russell Talley of Hawtree led a major modernization of the course, which redesigned the bunkers and greens to contemporary tournament standards while preserving its classic forest character.
Did You Know? The club is renowned for its competitive tournament culture, serving as the primary training facility for several top Belgian professionals, including three-time European Tour winner and Ryder Cup player Thomas Pieters.
