Overview: Ridgewood Country Club is a private parkland layout in Waco, with rolling hills, wooded areas, elevated greens and Lake Waco as its scenic backdrop. The routing plays to par 70 and 6,542 yards in the historic description of the present course.
History: Ridgewood opened in 1947 with a design by native Texan Ralph Plummer. When the expansion of Lake Waco changed the shoreline and elevation, Plummer returned to redesign the course; the new routing opened in June 1963. Tripp Davis later led a major renovation that reopened in December 2023.
Did You Know? The lake expansion forced a complete redesign rather than a small adjustment, so the 1963 course is best understood as the present layout’s true starting point.
