Overview: Ridgefields is a private parkland course in Kingsport, Tennessee, set beside the Holston River with mountain scenery beyond the fairways. The layout uses mature trees, gently moving ground and river views to create a traditional club course that rewards placement and controlled approaches.
History: The first nine opened in June 1949 and the present front nine was completed around 1950 under the direction of Donald Ross Associates. The club’s history therefore has two useful dates: the first playable nine and the completion of the eighteen-hole routing.
Did You Know? The river and surrounding hills are not simply scenic edges to the course. They help define the property’s sense of place, giving Ridgefields a distinctly East Tennessee setting while the routing itself remains a classic parkland design.
