Overview: The Tom Watson Course at Reunion Resort is a par-72 Central Florida layout with wide fairways, rolling ground, large greens and strategically placed bunkers. The official resort material lists 7,154 yards from the back tees. Its scale is more open than a heavily wooded Florida course, and the architecture puts particular pressure on approach play and the short game. The course belongs to a resort property whose three signature layouts share a broad, landscaped setting but use very different design ideas.
History: The Watson Course was completed and opened in 2004 as Reunion Resort took shape near Orlando. It was developed alongside Arnold Palmer’s course, with Jack Nicklaus’s Tradition Course added later. Reunion’s current golf program continues to describe all three as signature courses designed by Palmer, Watson and Nicklaus, and the resort periodically reviews the layouts against their original design intent.
Did You Know? Reunion brings three major championship names together at one destination: Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus. The Watson course is the resort’s most open-looking test, but the official hole descriptions repeatedly return to the same theme: wide spaces still demand careful decisions into tiered and protected greens.
