Overview: The Reserve at Lake Keowee is a Jack Nicklaus design in the foothills of South Carolina, where the routing works through rolling ground, hardwoods, pines and long views toward the lake. The course plays to par 72 and 7,112 yards from the back tees. Its character comes from the combination of elevation change, natural vegetation and the broad lake-and-mountain setting.
History: The course opened in 2002 as the golf centerpiece of a large Lake Keowee community. Nicklaus Design describes the property as a 3,200-acre setting with roughly 20 miles of shoreline, while the club’s development history records the course as part of the original community vision. The design also became associated with Audubon environmental stewardship.
Did You Know? The Reserve is not only a lakeside course. Nicklaus Design describes a setting with roughly 20 miles of Lake Keowee shoreline, while the course itself moves through foothill terrain, mature hardwoods and pine forest.
