Overview: Remedy Oak is a modern Dorset course set within 256 acres of ancient woodland, hardwood trees, conifers, heather and water. John Jacobs and his team shaped the layout to move naturally through the estate, with wide landing areas balanced by substantial bunkers and water hazards on eight holes. The course has an expansive feel from the back tees, yet the multiple tee positions allow the same design to be approached with a more measured rhythm.
History: The course was constructed in 2006 on a property with a long local association with the Remedy Oak tree. Jacobs’ design deliberately keeps the woodland and its existing character central to the experience, rather than treating the trees as a decorative boundary. The club has quickly established a strong reputation in southern England for its construction quality, seclusion and consistent presentation.
Did You Know? The course’s name comes from an ancient oak associated with the nearby Woodlands area. Local tradition connects the tree with King Edward VI and the old belief that touching it could help cure illness, giving the modern golf course a name rooted in much older folklore.
