Overview: Redlands Country Club is a private parkland course on its original Redlands ground, with an 18-hole, par-70 layout of about 6,130 yards. Mature trees, gentle elevation and the San Bernardino foothills give the course a traditional inland Southern California character that rewards line and position more than spectacle.
History: The first nine holes were laid out in 1896, while the present 18-hole course opened on November 26, 1927. Alister MacKenzie served as principal consultant, and Todd Eckenrode led a renovation in 2016. Redlands describes itself as the oldest course in Southern California still on its original ground.
Did You Know? Redlands’ history contains two different opening dates: 1896 for the first nine and 1927 for the present 18. That distinction explains why the club can claim a nineteenth-century beginning while still describing the current routing as a 1927 course.
