Overview: Reay is a traditional seaside links on Sandside Bay, with the Pentland Firth and North Atlantic visible across much of the course. The club’s current course page lists 5,831 yards and par 69, with the opening and closing holes both played as par threes.
History: Reay Golf Club was founded in 1893. The club history records a twelve-hole course in 1926, alterations by James Braid in 1933 and a later revival in 1962, after which golf returned to the Sandside links.
Did You Know? The sixth hole is called Braid’s Choice because James Braid singled it out when he played the early course. The fourth is a 581-yard par five, while the seventh requires a carry over the Reay Burn.
