Overview: Ravisloe Country Club is a public Donald Ross course in Homewood, Illinois, south of Chicago. Its current character comes from Ross's renovation of an older routing, with rolling ground, smaller greens and traditional bunker placement defining the 18-hole experience.
History: Ravisloe was established in 1901 with a nine-hole course by Theodore Moreau and James Foulis. William Watson expanded the property to 18 holes between 1910 and 1913, and Donald Ross carried out the defining renovation from 1917 through 1919.
Did You Know? The Spanish Mission-style clubhouse was designed by George Nimmons and remains on the property. David Esler led a 2001 restoration focused on recovering course features consistent with Ross's principles.
