Overview: Raspberry Falls Golf & Hunt Club in Leesburg is a Gary Player design laid across the open, rolling ground of Loudoun County. The 18-hole par-72 course reaches 7,191 yards from the black tees, with broad fairways, natural-looking rough, exposed slopes and a mixture of tree-framed and links-influenced holes. The landscape gives the routing a generous visual scale, but the best approach angles depend on choosing the right side of the fairway and understanding how the land moves around the greens. Rock, mounding and bunker placement create the main strategic landmarks rather than dense woodland alone.
History: Raspberry Falls opened in 1996 on the outskirts of Leesburg as part of the region's move toward destination-quality public golf. Gary Player and his design team used the rolling property to create a course with five tee positions, allowing the 7,191-yard championship setup to contract to a much shorter layout. The club later developed a broader golf-and-hunt identity and membership program, but the central course remains a public-facing Player design whose character comes from the exposed Loudoun landscape and long views between holes.
Did You Know? The course's five published tee distances run from 7,191 yards at the back to 4,894 yards at the shortest markers. That spread is more than 2,000 yards on the same 18 holes, so Raspberry Falls can present very different approach clubs and landing zones without changing its basic routing or visual landmarks.
