Overview: Rancho Murieta’s North Course is a private layout of eighteen holes in the Sacramento region, routed through gentle topography and old-growth oak forests. The course’s history credits Bert Stamps with the original design and Arnold Palmer with a 1986 redesign. The club describes tree-lined holes, elevated greens and undulating putting surfaces, while the current tee system ranges from shorter member tees to a long championship option.
History: The North Course opened to the public in 1971 as part of the development of Rancho Murieta. The country club formed in 1973, and the North was later redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1986. Those dates distinguish the course opening, the club’s formation and the later architectural intervention rather than collapsing them into one event.
Did You Know? Rancho Murieta’s courses are irrigated with recycled community water supplied by the Rancho Murieta Community Services District. That operational detail reflects how the modern community’s infrastructure is tied to the golf landscape.
