Overview: Rancamaya Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole, par-72 Ted Robinson design in the hills near Bogor, West Java. The official course information gives 6,931 yards from the gold tees and describes a routing built around changing elevation, a central lake and a series of linked water features. Broad fairways make the course look welcoming from the first tee, but the sloping ground, water and varied approach angles keep the round strategic. Mount Salak forms the main backdrop, while the parkland setting brings the course into the wider Rancamaya estate rather than isolating it from the surrounding landscape. The result is a mountain-facing layout whose character comes from movement through the terrain as much as from its individual hazards.
History: The wider Rancamaya estate began in 1993, while current course references date the golf course itself to 1995. Ted Robinson's design became the centrepiece of a larger residential and hospitality development, and later hotel material describes the club as private while offering stay-and-play arrangements to eligible guests. That distinction explains why public sources can describe Rancamaya as both a private club and a golf destination connected to a hotel. The course has retained its original Robinson identity: the lakes, elevation changes and views toward Mount Salak are not decorative additions to a flat resort property but the structural elements around which the holes were routed.
Did You Know? The lake system is one of Rancamaya's defining design features: the official description places a central lake at the heart of the challenge, while other estate material notes a chain of lakes linked by small waterfalls. At roughly 450 metres above sea level, the course also sits high enough for Mount Salak to remain a constant visual reference through the round.
