Overview: Quinta do Perú is an 18-hole parkland course south of Lisbon, set near the Arrábida Mountains in the Quinta do Conde area. Rocky Roquemore designed the par 72 layout, which is listed at 6,650 yards. The course occupies a large estate and is deliberately free of residential villas along the fairways, leaving the round focused on the land, the trees and the golf. History: Quinta do Perú opened in 1994 as a Rocky Roquemore design and became one of the established parkland courses in the Lisbon region. The original concept made use of the estate setting and the natural landscape around the Arrábida foothills, with a course that could offer a complete round without the fairways being surrounded by housing. Portuguese golf sources continue to identify the course as an 18-hole par 72 parkland layout by Roquemore. Its history is therefore relatively modern, but the design belongs to an important period in which Portugal developed inland and estate-based golf destinations alongside the better-known coastal resorts. The course has retained that quieter, open-estate identity.
