Overview: Providence Golf Club offers Davenport a public 18-hole test with 6,929 yards at par 72. Mike Dasher's layout blends prairie, heathland, Old Florida and parkland ideas through creeks, hardwoods and wetlands, with water influencing more than half of the holes.
History: The course opened in 2007 as the golf centerpiece of the Providence community. The club describes a daily-fee operation that welcomes public play while preserving the natural drainage and wildlife corridors that give the layout its changing character.
Did You Know? The official hole guide notes otters around the 13th and deer around the 12th, while the 17th is described as an Old Florida hole. Those details make the wildlife part of the course story rather than a generic backdrop.
