Overview: Prince's Golf Club is a coastal links at Sandwich with three nine-hole loops named Shore, Dunes and Himalayas. The directory record represents an 18-hole composite rather than one permanent loop, so the published Shore and Dunes combination is used here as the reference: par 72 and 6,855 yards from the black tees. Other pairings have different totals, while the underlying links character remains consistent.
History: Charles Hutchings and Percy laid out the original course in 1904. The links hosted The Open in 1932, then suffered severe wartime damage. Sir Guy Campbell and J.S.F. Morrison rebuilt the course in 1950, incorporating 17 original greens into a new 27-hole layout. Martin Ebert later updated the course while preserving the three-loop structure.
Did You Know? Gene Sarazen won the 1932 Open at Prince's, and the sixth hole of the Shore loop now plays toward the same green used for that championship. The course therefore connects a current nine-hole loop with one of the most important moments in its earlier layout.
