Overview: Prestwick Country Club is a public Pete and P.B. Dye course in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The par-72 layout extends to 7,086 yards and combines tall pine corridors on the front side with more links-like ground and sculpted features on the back. Six tee sets allow the course to be played at very different lengths.
History: Prestwick opened in 1989 as a private club created by the Jackson family and designed by Pete Dye with his son P.B. Dye. The course later moved through semi-private operation before becoming fully public in 2016, a change that broadened access while retaining the original design.
Did You Know? The course deliberately recalls its Scottish namesake through pot bunkers, rolling greens, and links-style features on the back nine. That is a design reference rather than a claim that the South Carolina course is a true seaside links.
