Overview: Preakness Hills Country Club is a private William Henry “Willie” Tucker course in Wayne, New Jersey, with mature trees, rolling ground and carefully defended greens. The par-72 layout is moderate in length but rewards accurate approach play and a good understanding of its contours.
History: The club was founded in 1926 and turned to Willie Tucker for the golf course. Plans were drawn that year, and the full 18-hole course opened in April 1929; later work by Geoffrey Cornish, Brian Silva and Ron Forse restored and refined parts of the design.
Did You Know? The original 18-hole course opened to par 72 and 6,400 yards, a compact championship scale by modern standards.
