Overview: Situated within the grand 1,500-acre Portumna Forest Park, this course is one of the most scenic and peaceful parkland layouts in Ireland. Designed by the legendary Eddie Hackett and opened in its current championship 18-hole configuration in 1993, the course weaves through a spectacular landscape of historic oak and beech woodland. Characterized by its narrow, forest-lined corridors and its tranquil rural setting, Portumna offers a technical and atmospheric round of world-class strategic golf.
Did You Know? The course is situated on the ancestral lands of the Earls of Clanricarde and has carefully preserved the original natural features of the estate forest. Often described as one of the best-kept secrets in Irish golf, the club has maintained a reputation for having some of the most consistent and well-manicured surfaces in the Midlands region, with the occasionally sight of local deer along the fairways adding to the authentically "wild" Gaelic character of the layout.
